The agency’s senior creative management team is being strengthened.
Kolle Rebbe is promoting the long-standing lead creative Thomas Knüwer (35) to the role of executive creative director. In doing so, the Hamburg agency is strengthening its senior creative management team, which also includes the managing directors Stefan Wübbe and Fabian Frese as well as the ECDs Rolf Leger (art and design) and Andreas Brunsch (tech and digital). Knüwer will support the creative management on key accounts in his new position and continue to generate new business across the company. Above all else, however, he will be responsible for developing the agency and the creative side.
‘Thomas is one of the best all-round creatives in Germany. He is a first-class art director with a brilliant strategic mind. He also has the incredible ability to develop innovative solutions by combining the aspects of technology and creation,’ says creative managing director Fabian Frese.
‘He has grown up at Kolle Rebbe, He embodies everything the agency represents and is the perfect man for the job of continuing to develop the agency.’
After completing his design degree, he began his career at Jung von Matt/Alster in Hamburg, where he was working for clients such as Mercedes-Benz and Bosch. In 2009, he joined Kolle Rebbe as an art director. The agency had already made him a creative director by 2011, ultimately becoming lead creative in 2014. He looks after a range of clients, including Netflix, DAZN, Heycar, Cremesso, Apple, Momondo, Google and YouTube. Knüwer is an ADC member and has received numerous national and international awards for his work – at the ADC and Cannes Lions, among others.
